KANGERTECH NEBOX INTRO

If you’re interested in getting into vaping you may find yourself overwhelmed when it comes to choosing a device that best suits your needs.

This is particularly true when it comes to a box mod set-up, as it can become confusing when trying to decipher which tank works best with each unit.

What I really like about the Kangertech Nebox Starter Kit is that it’s an affordable device that takes all of the guesswork out of putting together your first box mod.

And you get a lot for your money!

It’s not the first device of its kind, but the very attractive price point is likely to make it a popular device if you’re looking for a great unit at a price that doesn’t hurt.

Let’s take a closer look at what you get.

PACKAGING & DESIGN

Kangertech has been around for a while, and is considered one of the more reputable names in the vaping world.

As such, it’s no real surprise that the Nebox Starter Kit is very nicely packaged.

The box itself features the device on the front. Once you open it up, you will find the unit neatly packed inside.

Lift that part out, and you’ll then find all the other pieces that come with the kit, including the charger and coils.

The one thing that would appear to be missing here is the tank, but that is where this box mod separates itself from so many others on the market.

More about that in a moment.

The unit is nicely designed, and has been put together in a way that makes it easy to hold and control.

You can choose from a number of different colour options, which means you don’t have to be stuck with the traditional black and silver common mod colours we’re used to seeing.

The placement of the controls for the unit has been well thought out, and you will easily be able to power up and change temperatures and other settings without a lot of fiddling about.

Overall, a very well designed all-in-one unit.

FUNCTIONALITY

As previously mentioned, one of the big selling points of the Nebox is that there are not a lot of parts to put together.

The e-liquid tank, which is actually very large, is contained within the unit itself. I’ve had no leaking issues with this and it vapes really well.

It holds a good amount of juice and can be filled from the top or the bottom. I prefer using the top fill on this as I do most devices, but it’s nice to have the option to do both

You are in total control of the temperature and wattage with this unit.

While it is a device that is ideal for you if you’re new to vaping, it’s will also suit you for a couple of reasons if you’re a moderate or even an experienced vaper.

You’re able to sub ohm vape with a large 10 ml tank, which is not something that you commonly see in a sub ohm unit.

There are 4 built-in temperature settings, and a pair of wattage settings (up to as high as 60W), which are easily toggled between using the “+” and “-“ buttons located below the power button.

All the coils that you need come with the starter kit, but these can be removed and changed if preferred.

You can even build your own coils as it comes with an optional RBA. This may not appeal to you if you’re not in to building decks, but it’s nice to have the option.

OLED DISPLAY

The display is not the largest that you will ever see, but given the size of this unit it’s about what you would expect.

It’s clear enough to read, and gives you all the information you’d expect, such as the remaining charge, wattage, temperature.

BATTERY DETAILS

The Nebox is powered by a single 188650 battery, which helps to keep the overall weight on the lighter side.

The amount of life that you get from the battery is about average for a single 18650.

The one downside with the battery set-up is the cover, which has to be opened using a coin or a flat head screwdriver of some kind. I’m really not a fan of this design feature for a couple of reasons:

1) It’s an inconvenience if I don’t have a coin or tool to open the battery when I’m out and about.

2) I found that that the cover starts to flake and lose its colour after a few openings, giving it a tattered look.

DISLIKES

  • No airflow control
  • Sub-standard battery cover

LIKES

  • Excellent price point
  • All-in-one design
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Pre-set temperature and wattage settings
  • Large e-liquid tank built in
  • Easy to fill (Top-fill Design)
  • You can add / build your own coils

SHOULD YOU GET THE NEBOX?

At around £54 you’re looking at a bit of an investment, but you’ll be getting a very good device.

The vape quality is also pretty good. The only real sticker for me was that awful little battery cover.

That is a small complaint, though, and overall I have to say that this is excellent value for money.

It’s nice and lightweight, and I’ve enjoyed every moment vaping it.
